Alter & Abolish: The Political Opinions of a non-voter. Disclaimers & Background

1: Disclaimers

This unorganized, unfiltered, but always ethical blog will highlight the discrepancies in today’s narrative. Unfortunately, everything is political and will continue to be due to the expert immoral strategizing of our government officials, so no topics are off limits. Open discussions are welcome.

2: Background:

I'm Average. – HS Educated, some college courses & certifications. I voted in every eligible election allowed up until November 2020. Registered as a democrat, however I rebuke this wholeheartedly and wish to unregister as affiliated with any current American political party. I’m self-educated in the world of policy and political commentary and on that note, I got some shit to say.

My belief in the American political system officially broke in 2020. Immediately after several democratic political nominees dropped from the ticket before the majority of the country had a chance to vote. This politically orchestrated several month-long performance by the democratic party to solidify the election of THEIR chosen candidate (not the choice of the American people) solidified my exit from participation. This seemed to be another game, similar to 2016 where the people’s choice was clearly overruled by the establishment’s choice in the primary, and it’s like I’m just tired, so tired of being played with.

Free & Fair elections have not been held in the United States of America likely ever. This has nothing to do with the Trump lie or anything that has happened in the last 2 years, it’s just simply the American way. The American people are not presented with options and allowed to vote on which is best. The person who is awarded the most votes does not always win, and you were likely purposefully shielded from learning about the candidate you would have been most likely to support. I mean, is this how we should be electing the people in charge? The people with the money decide who our options are.

A or B.

You don’t like either too bad these are your choices. What kinda freedom is that? I can’t participate in nonsense. I am the type of person who has to be very careful about who and what she puts her energy into. I thought long and hard about 2020 and what it meant not to cast a vote. I ordered a mail in ballot, and I sat with it, for a while. Ultimately, it simply did not sit well with my spirit to vote for Joe. I never was going to vote for Joe. He was NEVER my choice, and if you go around and ask the people how they felt in 2019 I guarantee you most Americans would say the same thing. Looking back, I'm so proud of my decision and the stance I took to do what is morally sound for ME. I came to the same decision in 2021 during our statewide Governor’s election, because I was NEVER voting for Terry! Princess Blanding was on the ballot statewide, and we did not see her at the debates, WHY? Again, I just can’t continue to participate in things that are clearly presented just to pacify me. Terry was nobodies’ choice, yet the democratic party chose and pushed forward with the candidate that THEY wanted. The result is the result. Now we are here. Trump took us on a 4 year crash course in exactly what CAN be done when in power. I find myself understanding his election more and more as the time goes on. “Drain the swamp!”, yes, I can see why that won, I agree, lets drain it. He also showed us just how much you can get done when you are willing to do what is necessary to get your agenda passed. We are now seeing the exact opposite play out. The democrats in full control of the government right now still cant get what was promised passed. Same margins, same set up, but for some reason when it comes time to invest in the American people we are unable to do things unless its “bipartisan”. The democratic party is unwilling to go to the lengths that the republican party does to honor the will of their voters for even the most basic of things. They ask for patience and understanding, and try to give lessons on how democracy works, while we suffer. They ask US to march for voting rights. VOTING RIGHTS??? My spirit said hell TF no. We already did thissss!! How are we marching for voting rights after electing “You not black if you don’t vote for me” Joe?!?!?!

My spirit can’t take it & I need an outlet, so Alter & Abolish has been birthed. I’m going to do my best to write weekly about whatever the bullshit of the week is and hopefully letting out my frustration will allow me to feel better about our current situation. Hope you enjoy!
